Path of Exile, the ever-expanding free-to-play action role-playing game that is similar to Diablo, is continuing to shake the foundations of the game itself. Its so-called Leagues, which are seasonal content updates centered around a particular topic, do not shy away from implementing substantial changes. However, Grinding Gear Games, the game’s developer, is aware of it. If the upcoming changes to the Atlas of Worlds and the Passive Skill trees serve as any indication, we may be witnessing the first steps toward a more streamlined experience.
There is still a long way to go before the release of Path of Exile 2, so until then, we can anticipate the release of many more Leagues. On the other hand, these seasonal content updates are always incorporated in some way or another into the primary experience going forward in some fashion or another. It is also important to note that Scourged Modifiers are sold in sets of two. The first one always provides a helpful effect, while the second one always adds a mod that makes things worse. The first one is easy to understand, but the second one might be a little more challenging. Some of them make the requirements for the corrupted item that you used in the Blood Crucible significantly more difficult. Some will even reduce your character’s stats or resistances, in addition to disabling entire character abilities, if you let them. Others will go even further.
What about plugs and sockets? During your travels to the Scourge reality, you may come across tainted versions of various orbs, including tainted Chromatic Orbs, tainted Jeweller’s Orbs, and tainted Fusing Orbs. These operate in precisely the same way as their regularly stocked counterparts, which also have strange names. Despite this, you can only use them on items that have been tainted.
During your fights against the Scourge, you will earn experience that can be used to level up The Blood Crucible, giving you access to a new tree of skills. This enables you to unlock new tangents to experiment with, giving you access to additional item slots as well as the ability to transform unique items. When I was looking through the Atlas of Worlds, one of the features that particularly piqued my interest was the fact that you can store maps on the device. These have the potential to be transformed up to ten times, each time bringing with it the possibility of additional beneficial or detrimental modifiers to stack with those already present. All of this fits in quite nicely with the upcoming changes that have been announced for the Atlas of Worlds.
Path of Exile offers players the opportunity to explore the Atlas of Worlds once they have completed the game’s primary quest line. This is a late-game activity in which you explore maps and complete their content. If you are successful, you will emerge from the experience with a large amount of loot. The catch is that the conditions on each map are different from one another. Not to mention the various levels of the tiers! The greater the tier, the greater the risk that you take on in exchange for the potential rewards.
In reality, this is only the tip of the proverbial iceberg.
